So... unfortunately I am only blogging again because it is required for my instructional technology course but you might actually be interested in this one, who knows! I was required to upload pictures through picasa so I chose some pictures from this semester showing some fun things that I have been doing!

This first one is of Christie, Elliot and I just doing homework out in the grassy area by our resident halls. To bad it is freezing now and we will never get to do this again!

Next we have a lovely picture from the 80's dance...

Here's the gang at an Aggie football game! They try so hard...

And last we have me in my natural habitat of working for housing! This basically consumes my life but luckily I work with amazing people so I don't mind it so much! This is at one of our programs...

Institutions 4015

For my Institutions 4015 course I have chosen to follow a couple educational blogs. The ones that I have looked at are:
http://classblogmeister.com/blog.php?blogger_id=1638
This is a blog from a class of 9-11 year old students from New Zealand! I love the idea of viewing blogs of classes from around the world to see other's perspectives. The purpose that I see from looking at this blog is to share ideas from her classroom as well as keep her readers updated on what the students are involved in. I would love reading this blog just to get ideas from different cultures.

http://www.2mgems.blogspot.com/
I really love the idea of a class blog like this one. It is a great way to keep parents involved in the schooling as well as a way for students to know what events are coming up as well as teach them all about blogging and  how helpful it can be to create and follow blogs. They also have a reading and writing blog where they can post writings or listen to audio books which I love!

This blog is another one from a class in New Zealand. Through this blog they are able to share what they are doing in school which again is a great way to keep parents involved in the learning as well as sharing their culture with future teachers like myself around the world!

Fine Dinning and Other Things...

Most days in Logan I eat at the lovely Marketplace but on Friday, before heading home for the weekend I decided that a nice lunch at The Junction bum bum bum....
They were serving sea and the set up made it look so fancy that I had to try it out. Clams and Shrimp.
When they were cooking it before me it smelled so devine that I was sure that my taste
buds were in for a treat! First time trying clams... and last time trying clams.
It's ok though because right after I got to drive home to Salt Lake with Elliot! His parents are going on trips for the next forever so he wanted to go see them before they left and go to dinner with them for his mom's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORI!!!

These fine pieces of work are dragon tails that my very talented mother fashioned up for my niece and nephew. I wish I had a picture of them wearing them because they are so adorable! My mother is so amazing!

Speaking of amazing family members... I got up to see Laura run in the Salt Lake Half Marathon! And just for the record, wearing a sweatband with pink polka dots does not make one stand out in a crowd . . .
I don't think she even saw this sign that I made for her-- but she can see it now after the fact! She never ceases to inspire me and I look up to her so much!
GO LAURA!

Theme Housing Presents: ZOMBIE PROM!!!

Friday, April 8th Theme Housing put on a dance for Reslife Week and the theme was Zombies to go along with Humans vs. Zombies (game) that was happening all week long! This is me all bein' zombie while setting up! I got this dress at the DI for $6, I was pretty proud of it, until one of my friends ripped it up. Later on I got attacked and became even more deadly and such...

Not only was April 8th the night of the living dead,
it was also my favorite brother's birthday!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Here's some pics of us being goofs as usual!

To another 23 great years big bro!

What's New?

First week back from Spring Break, I had three tests... I don't know whose idea it was to wait until after a week of forgetting everything to test us. Sometimes I feel as though they want us to fail. So when I am not cramming for tests and such I have come up with alternative ways to entertain myself, such as...

PUT ON BY OUR PHYSICS DEPT.

You would think that 20,000 bouncy balls falling over 100 ft would be more exciting, but this picture pretty much sums up all of the fun that was had that day... I didn't even get a bouncy ball at the end of it. We all decided that it was just a ploy to see how many people they could disappoint and kids they could trample all using bouncy balls.

In better news, I put on my first FIG Dinner! Only one of my residents didn't show up which is amazing! We made calzones and played games in the basement of the dorms.

Look at my cute little Freshmen! I love my job!

Elliot has recently introduced me to a few funny blogs and websites that I spent my nights laughing at:
http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/

Oh and I was shown this video on youtube this weekend of Rebecca Black and her song Friday is always stuck in my head! It's so terrible! It's not even grammatically correct! At least it teaches the days of the week...

So now I think I will nap and try to get over this FEVER! ugh....

Spring Break!!!

SPRING BREAK---
Trip to Colorado State to see Tucker!

450 miles and about a 6 hour car ride all the way to Ft. Collins, Colorado. This Spring Break I got to drive out to visit Elliot's best friend Tucker who goes to Colorado State! One of Tucker's good friends, Laura, came along for the ride too! Lucky for Elliot I sucked up all my courage and drove stick in his civic for about 150 miles to give him a break. I was proud because do NOT drive a manual!

What's there to do in Ft. Collins, CO you might ask? Well... theres not much but we still ended up having a good time! The weather was amazing and CSU's campus was so beautiful! Our first day their Tucker gave us a tour of the college in the 65 degree weather! My favorite part of the trip by far was when Elliot decided that he was giving up on "Mustache March" and shaved...
Final Product!

The trip was a great success and we all had a great time! It wasn't until the curse of visiting Tucker on spring break hit us (literally) on the way home...
Cheryl (Elliot's Civic) had a bad encounter with a deer just an hour from home. Tucker was driving and just as we were passing by Echo Reservoir a deer ran in front of us and we hit it pretty hard. No one got hurt but the deer... RIP. I call it a curse because just last year on spring break two of Tucker's other friends were driving back to Utah after visiting him for spring break and they flipped the truck that they were driving! No more visiting Tucker over spring break! Now I'm home and ready to get back to Logan and more importantly back to USU!

First Blog Post

So this is my first blog... (Thanks to Laura!) I've decided to create this blog for the sole purpose of keeping my family informed on what it is I'm doing at college and so if anyone stumbles upon this blog or my family finds my life completely uneventful then I won't be offended if nobody reads this. Since this is a blog of my life in college and I'm halfway through my second semester I should probably play a little catch up...
 My Fall Semester 2010
In A Nutshell

Step 1. Buy matching Aggie Blue converse
Step 2. Move In

Step 3.  Meet the roomies

Step 4. Join EVERYTHING!
Area Government
Youth And Families With Promise

Step 5. Go to EVERYTHING!
Bingo and we only won a sweatshirt...
Family Home Evening
80's Dance
HOWL
Humans vs. Zombies

Step 6. Get a job in housing and have to move?

OH... And be a student and get good grades of course!
And that is my Fall Semester...

Spring Semester 2011 thus far...
It turns out that moving across campus and getting this job was the best thing for me!
I love my new job and everything about it and I just found out that I get to do it again next year! For those of you who don't know, I got a job as the Education Peer Mentor for housing on campus. Meaning I plan a bunch of sweet programs and mentor freshmen that are Education majors. I couldn't be happier!
Luckily I am currently on SPRING BREAK! I'm not used to having this much time to do things that I actually want to do... unfortunately I am spending it anxiously waiting to find out if I made it into the Teacher Education Program! I turned in my application and had my group interview last week so I will find out soon! Wish me luck! Elliot and I are leaving for Colorado to visit his best friend, Tucker (whom I love), on Wednesday and we are going to have a lot of fun I'll up date you with that later!

Welcome to my life!
